New District Administrators Added via Promotions

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District has filled two key positions with the recent promotions of Eric Klein as associate vice chancellor for Educational Support Services, and Nashona Andrade as the new Human Resources director.

Chancellor Lynn Neault said the selections of Klein and Andrade will further strengthen an already talented leadership team.

“Both Eric and Nashona will bring passion and innovation to these positions,” she said. “They will help keep our district moving forward.”

Klein, who joined the district in 2019 as Grossmont College’s dean of Learning and Technology Resources, will coordinate strategic enrollment management efforts, manage institutional data and work closely with Information Technology to design and improve systems to support operations. He is highly regarded by his peers and leaders in the district, and committed to serving students.

Klein came to the district from Ashford University in San Diego, where he was dean of the Honors College and chair of the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. He has taught psychology, honors and Homeland Security courses. Eric also worked as a staff psychologist at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  

In his current and prior roles, Klein has provided support for academic and student affairs, accreditation, strategic planning, and enrollment management. He has a strong interest in accreditation and compliance.

Klein earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from The College of New Jersey. He holds a Master of Arts in General – Theoretical Psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Andrade, who joined the district in August 2018 as a professional development specialist, will oversee employee recruitment and benefits, and take a critical role in modernizing human resources procedures. In her prior position as professional development specialist, Andrade partnered with district leaders on employee performance process improvement, recruitment, talent management and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

In 2021, Andrade received the Chancellor and Classified Senate Award recognizing the excellence of classified, or non-instructional, staff.

She has proven to be an inspirational role model through her numerous connections with colleagues, leading professional development programs for new employees, classified staff, Classified Senates at Grossmont and Cuyamaca colleges and the district office.

Andrade holds a Master of Science degree in Human Services with a concentration in Community Psychology from Springfield College in Massachusetts, and a bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University.
