Cuyamaca College names new VP of Instruction

Cuyamaca college has named Mrs. Jeanie M. Machado Tyler as the next Vice President of Instruction.

Machado Tyler brings to the role over twenty-seven years of administrative and leadership experience in community college, and holds a bachelor’s as well as a master’s degree in organizational leadership.

Her community college experience includes serving as an instructional dean, dean of equity, associate dean of Strong Workforce Programs, director for off-campus programs, a classified professional, and a former tenured professor of business studies.  

Jeanie’s leadership experience focuses on working collaboratively with constituency groups across the campus to develop and implement equity-focused programs and services for diverse student populations.

As a student of servant leadership, her work reflects her passion for volunteer work and service to others. She is a 2021 National Community College Hispanic Council (NCCHC) Leadership Fellow, and currently serves on the advisory board of the Downtown San Diego Partnership. She says she is happiest when finding ways to unite community and education.

Jeanie is a first-generation college student who is proud to have started her postsecondary education at a community college. She is also a current resident of El Cajon, and is excited to serve her community here at Cuyamaca College.
