EL CAJON, California – On September 27, Cuyamaca College will launch its fifth annual ECHO Chamber Music Series, once again bringing world-renowned classical musicians to the East County campus.
The 2023-24 East County Harmonics Organization (ECHO) Chamber Music Series will feature 16 performances between Sept. 27 and May 30, 2024. The series is supported by classical music patron and Founding Sponsor Sam B. Ersan. Concerts will be held at Cuyamaca’s Samuel M. Ciccati Performing Arts Center.
The first performance on Sept. 27 will feature harpist Julie Smith Phillips and Friends, performing works by Bach, Schubert, and Saint-Saëns. Subsequent performances will feature the Clarosa Piano Quartet; the Dover Quartet with pianist George Li; guitarist Ana Vidovic; violinist James Ehnes and pianist Orion Weiss; the Quartet Integra from the Colburn School in Los Angeles; and other noted artists from around the globe. Cuyamaca College is proud to present this exceptional series, which aims to bring the beauty of classical chamber music to East County and the entire San Diego region. But this music series will also impact the future of education in East County: Proceeds from ticket sales will directly help at least 10 aspiring musicians at Cuyamaca College pay for college and purchase the instruments and music lessons they need to launch careers in music.
